Deformed “Everything is a fun torture” Demo

It is hard to write a review about a band’s release when one knows less about them then about their moniker’s meaning. Anyway, the band has supplied me with some info which should help distanciate from a barren review and fill the gaps where only music doesn’t reach.
Heating up on April 2002 the furnace that should portray the cruelty of the despised remains of those unlucky enough to march in front of their “Gore Grind Assault”, Deformed began, with fellow countrymen Dark Legion (in less than two months after appearing in the underground), a “Demolition Tour” which served as an appetizer for their forthcoming shows which might display enough meat to make the population from Ethiopia happy for more than a month.
Although ¾ of Deformed are Polish ( Tomasz Z. as guitar/backing vocals; Wojiech L. as vocals/programming; Tomasz F. as bass/backing vocals ), they proudly present to the underground their tireless Japanese drummer which, although not that very technical, blasts endlessly throughout this Demo – Cd. Afterall, having such a weird name as Yamaha ry9 and being a proof of Japan’s technology is something worth being proud of… One thing, though, that keeps stumbling through my mind is if Poland lacks metal drummers or if the band just wanted to push forward their sound and appear more original than others? Well, only time will tell…
This Demo – Cd consists of six tracks, secluded by horror movies interludes, each within the boundaries of your usual Gore/Grind outfit, although I can’t see where I can find the gore on their lyrics for the Demo – Cd only has explanation notes… Damn the censorship!!! hehe Although one can hear they have some good powerful rhythms it pales when the drum machine tends to disclose the blasting fury they portray on their songs, much to the poor sound it has as it really vomits mechanical abuse all over.
They may still be a greenish band ( as I told before, I don’t know anything about their past ) but they have good ideas although some o0f them are a bit childish to tamper with ( the slower parts ), which could be sorted out with the addition of a flesh and bone drummer and Father Time!
Recorded at modev0.1 studio and engineered, mixed and mastered by a guy named Comankh, one could expect a better production, afteral it can be done nowadays you know? One just have to have money and some free time to do it so one could present a better product to the public
On July this same year, the label Surgical Diathesis Rec. released a 3 way split Cd featuring this same band as well as Parricide and Patologicum which always grants a wider recognition. The participation in different compilations as well as radio shows and magazines is, of course, one of the most important steps to it. Then, it comes music, a more improved and original outburst I mean!
