Germinale “ Germinale “

Those who think that only esoteric and metal driven bands should gain recognizition on the underground maybe don’t know the close connections between Hardcore and Metal ( just take a hearing at some hardcore bands and at others into Grind/Core ). Yep, Germinale are a young italian band ( appearing in March 1994 ) that aproached music through a more rough and in your face sound ( sung in italian ) gaining inspiration by bands such as Negazione, Agnostic Front, Poison Idea and a numberous quantity of others.
After several releases, they’ve come up on May last year, with a self titled Cd single that contains only two songs which doesn’t show us their full potential although one gets the idea that quality is one of their main marks!
The first track “ Uomo solo “ was recorded in Virtual Studio ( Treviso ) and although this is an aggressive, powerful yet melancholic ( at some times ) song with some rough and clean voices now and then, I don’t think the production benefits them as the sound appears too much “contained “ and “clean “ ( for an hardcore band ) without managing to violently strike us into a painful headache, a sore neck and a hell of a good time as a band of these sort intends ( or should ) to!
The second track “ Il confine “ was recorded in an acoustic version during a radio transmission on “ Sherwood Radio “ which turned it into some sort of a ballad which isn’t that bad to hear from time to ime!
As I said before, one can’t appreciate the band’s full potential only through this cd – single which is a shame because the first track, really makes us wanna hear more songs from their reportoire. Only hope they release a cd real soon as they deserve it!!!
