In Flames “ClayMan“

After 4 Cds and 2 Mcds, In Flames return with one more strike at the throne of Kings of Melodic Death – Metal, having appeared in the beginning of the 90’s siide by side with Dark Tranquility, Edge of Sanity and the now defunct At The Gates. This one doesn’t bring anything new to their vast discography yet follow the melodic/agressive formula that they’ve perfected throughout the years without bringing anything to compare to “ The Jester Race “ or “ Whoracle “.
Falling through the concept that big goals should be achieved through small steps, the band provides us with a very tight and powerful rhythm structure, embebed in melodic lines that captivates ( sometimes it’s too melow for this listenner ) and a main man that varies his vocals tones with confidence and charisma...
Sometimes, I tend to think that they’re somewhat “ paralyzed “ in their own style, not being capable to evolve towards something a bit more... original! Nevertheless, this doesn’t cease to be a very good Cd full of capable themes that show that they deserve to be on that high mountain where all the greatest bands are... pity, that there’s always the stars...
